Ring in 2021 with annual Birch Bay celebrations

It might look different this year, but the community will still get to ring in the new year with annual events. The Birch Bay Chamber of Commerce will host a Brrr-tual Polar Bear Plunge, which is the event pictured above from last year. Participants can photograph and videotape jumping into the icy water and then send their plunge to events@birchbaychamber.com to enter to win a prize. On New Year’s Eve, the chamber will also host the Ring of Fire and Hope event that will start at 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 31. Flares will be available at the Birch Bay Visitor Center, 7900 Birch Bay Drive, when it opens at 9 a.m. on December 31, according to the chamber’s website.
