Former Bellingham police officer Sukhdev Singh Dhaliwal, 32, and his brother Jagmeet Dhaliwal, 38, were found guilty of beating and threatening two men on the 8200 block of Portal Way last October by Judge Charles Snyder in Whatcom County Superior Court.
Sukhdev was found guilty of fourth-degree assault and not guilty of second-degree assault. Jagmeet was found guilty of second and fourth-degree assault.
After the incident, Sukhdev was put on paid administrative leave and was subsequently fired from the Bellingham Police Department.
A sentencing hearing for Sukhdev and Jagmeet is scheduled for Wednesday, October 24.
